Jewellery Care

Gold-toned jewellery keeps its finish for years when it is looked after. Four habits do most of the work.

Put it on last

Perfume, lotion, hairspray and makeup all dull a plated finish. Get ready first, then put your piece on. Take it off first at the end of the day.

Keep it out of water

Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, washing up or exercising. Chlorine and salt water are the fastest way to wear a finish down.

Wipe it after wearing

Skin oils build up. A gentle wipe with a soft, dry cloth after each wear is enough — no polish, no chemical cleaner, no ultrasonic bath. Never use toothpaste or baking soda on plated pieces.

Store it dry and dark

Keep each piece in the pouch it arrived in, away from damp and direct sunlight. Storing pieces separately stops chains tangling and stones scratching.

A note on stones

Onyx and mother-of-pearl are natural materials. Small variations in colour and pattern between pieces are normal, and they are the reason no two are quite identical.
